...that most adults can't even put into words (why can't we say
"red big three balloons" anyway?). As an adult who has explored well
over two dozen languages, I have to say, I'm jealous. The kid, by the
way, picks up his native language not through textbooks, but through
interaction and exposure. So why is it that adults turn so readily to
rote memorization? Repetition will do the job - eventually -
but as methods go it's neither the most efficient nor the most fun. And
we all learn better when we're having fun.
