How Long Does it Take to Learn a Foreign Language?
Article describing my personal experience learning foreign languages and giving concrete tips about how to accomplish it.
The first point that I got stuck was probably being afraid of speaking or even learning a foreign language. However, good friends who spoke one of both languages that I wanted to know, showed me an astounding similarity between both and between English and any one of them. It may sound crazy, but English has got a lot of vocabulary from French. French, in turn, is historically related to Italian, so I could understand something of both my targets languages although I didn’t know or study it in advance.
