Learn A Language Fast
“As an adult who has explored well over two dozen languages, I have to say i m jealous. The kid, by the way, picks up his native language not through textbooks but through interaction and exposure. So why is it that adults turn so readily to rote memorization? Repetition will do the job – eventually – but as methods go, it is neither the most efficient nor the most fun. And we all learn better when we re having fun.”
This is an comment from someone that we all know. Maybe he/she speaks out what you have been thinking.
Kids have their born advantages over adults when it comes to foreign language learning.
1. They don’t seem to memorize things. They tend to remember things in certain environment. So to establish an atomasphere is important for kids to learn foreign languages.
2. They have no interferance of their native languages. They can take on a foreign language pronunciation naturally.
However, adults have our own advantages in terms of learning a second language. We use our common sense and established understanding ability to analyze grammar rules. This way, we can take on the rules quickly. Understanding facilitates memory.
Think about it. It normally takes more years in quanity to learn a foreign language than an adult. This is mainly because kids accumulate language skills slowly as they grow. For adults, however, we can put our progress in total control. You can achieve language proficiency in a year or two depending on the effort you put into it.
