Reasons to learn a foreign language (2)
7. Maintain Your Learning Ability
You are exercising your mind when you learn a different language. Many skills are involved in the learning process. You need to memorize (actually, I don’t like this word especially when it comes to learning languages.) and practice new words, gramatical rules as well as their usage in sentences by combining words together, and pronunciation. All of these skills can be related to in doing math problems, drawing pictures, even in literature creation.
More flexible reasoning, better understanding ability and creativity are found on people that learn different languages. Dementia can also be delayed according to findings.
8. Language learning could be just fun
If you don’t consider it as an assignment or a task, studying a language can just become natural to you. Just look at it from another angle.
Imagine what is going to happen when you apply it in your life by talking to people about what you have learned about the culture and custom of another country. People will pay more interest to you and like you more. They will ask you for more, and even ask you for some issues that they encountered in relation to the country where the language you are learning is spoken. You can use this knowledge to open a conversation.
Out of blue, you might be honored by an invitation to deliver a lecture in a school or organization.
Your success story will probably inspire those who know you to start learning a second language.
Do you see what a big difference learning foreign languages can make to your life as well as your personal presence!?
Why not do some research and pick one language that interests you and start having fun?
