Spanish Review

Spanish is the second largest language in the world. A large population of large quantities of countries are Spanish speakers. Its influence and presence in the business and diplomacy fields cannot be ignored.

In soccer, teams and stars from Spanish-speaking countries are playing a big role in this most popular sport in the world. If you are a soccer fan, why not learn Spanish in your spare time. You will find fun not only in soccer, but also in the fantastic cultures that soccer and Spanish open your mind to.

It seems that Spanish has become Americans’ second language naturally because the US is located closely to the Spanish-speaking centers in America as a continent and Spanish has becoming more and more prevalent in the States because of the increasing immigration from Spanish-speaking countries.

Spanish is more of a phonetic language. For Americans who are learning Spanish and French, it is easier to acquire good Spanish skills than those in French. In French, the letters that are at the end of a word are not supposed to be pronounced. However, in Spanish, you don’t have to worry about it. And the Spanish is much easier when it comes to pronunciation, compared to French. You can achieve standard Spanish pronunciation more simply.

You cannot deny that Spanish is close to French. Spanish grammar is one of the similar aspects. (Of course, all Romance languages are.) And the subjunctive tense is also a challenge when you learn Spanish.

Don’t be surprised when you don’t understand what the older people in Philippines or the Sephardic Jews in Turkey or Israel are saying. The reason is that their vernacular is a language known as Ladino, a fifteenth and sixteenth century Spanish with a Hebrew admixture that is written in the Hebrew alphabet.
