The French Language – Mysterious, Alluring, and Surprisingly Small
Some call French the language of love, the intelligent call it the language of Moliere and others haven’t a clue. French is a bit of a mystery to many of us and its distinctive sound gives it a unique and alluring edge. It is estimated that French contains around 80,000 words which sounds like an awful lot. Compared to English, however, it’s hard to see how the French get by, given the English repertoire of an estimated 300,000 words and counting.
